We are heading into those sweet late summer days where the lines blur between barbeques, boat rides, firepits and the impending fall semester that lies ahead. Summer jobs are coming to an end, homework free weekends are numbered, and the days are admittedly getting shorter. 


For you college students, whether this is your first semester away from home or you are a seasoned senior looking forward to what the future might hold come May, it’s time to get your head in the game. Get Your Brain in the Game Ahead of Time

Wellness & School Success Tip: Familiarize yourself with the materials a week or so in advance. Then relax. Your brain will be jam packed with information soon enough. By getting organized ahead of time, you can earn yourself some relaxation to clear your mind and transition from your summer lifestyle into full time college mode. Do yourself a favor and read those syllabi and materials lists as soon as they become available. Purchase all of the required materials right away so you aren’t wasting space in your brain worrying they won’t come in time for the first week of classes. You’ve got enough to think about! 


Health Tip: Eat breakfast, no matter what time of day you wake up. It’s named “break fast” for a reason - you need calories and nutrients right after your non-eating hours. Hard working students keep crazy hours at times, but hey, no one is judging a breakfast burrito at 2 in the afternoon! 


If you are planning to stay up until 4 am studying, plan a healthy meal at midnight to discourage the temptation to eat junk food all night. Whatever you have for dinner, get extra and save it for a middle of the night meal.
